Flu & Covid Vaccinations 2024/2025

LINCOLN HOUSE SURGERY FLU PLAN 2024 – 2025

Picture1

We hope this message finds you well. As we continue to experience a high demand for flu vaccinations due to the increased prevalence of flu symptoms this year, we want to remind you that we still have flu vaccines available at our practice.

Getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu. We encourage all eligible patients to book an appointment for their flu vaccination at their earliest convenience.

To schedule your flu vaccination, please contact our reception team or book online through our practice website.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Everyone age 65 or aver and everyone under 65 at risk will receive a text message or letter and will need to pre-book one of the following options

Who is eligible to get the flu vaccine?

From 1 September 2024:

  • pregnant women
  • all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2024
  • primary school aged children (from Reception to Year 6)
  • secondary school aged children (from Year 7 to Year 11)
  • all children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to less than 18 years

From 3rd October 2024:

  • those aged 65 years and over
  • those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Green Book, Influenza Chapter 19)
  • those in long-stay residential care homes
  • carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants

Patients aged 50 to 64 years old not in high risk groups will NOT be offered flu vaccination this year, as the eligibility was removed removed by NHS England.

Eligible children ( 2 to 3 years olds) will also receive an invite with a self book link. We will send self book links to parents/carers as soon as we have confirmation of the vaccines delivery date.

  • If your child is eligible to have a vaccination at school, but not otherwise in another at risk group, they should have their vaccine at school, not at the Doctors surgery.
  • Children nasal flu clinic will be announced at a later stage, once we have confirmed vaccine delivery dates. Expected from mid/end of September

HOW TO BOOK:

If you are eligible:

  • Please telephone reception any weekday to book your flu vaccination on 01442 254 366. There will be a dedicated line for bookings between the hours of 1pm and 3pm.
  • Home visits are available – for medically housebound patients ONLY. We shall continue to offer essential home visits for very frail patients to have their flu vaccinations at home and for those living in care homes.
    • Home visit slots are very limited and so are strictly reserved only for those who physically couldn’t get to an appointment with help from a friend, family or a taxi.
    • Home visits will be scheduled by our nursing team but please do call the surgery to let us know if you want to book a home visit so we can ensure you are on our list
