Important Update: Changes to our online eConsult service
To help us provide a faster, more efficient service for our patients, we are making a small change to the availability of our online eConsult service.
From Friday 5th June, eConsult will close at 6:30pm on Friday evenings and reopen at 6:30pm on Sunday evenings. The service will no longer be available over the weekend.
Why are we making this change?
We recently reviewed weekend eConsult usage and found that many requests submitted over the weekend are either duplicated through other services (like NHS 111) or resolve before the surgery opens on Monday.
By pausing the service over the weekend, we can:
-
Reduce duplicate requests and streamline our triage process.
-
Cut down Monday morning backlogs, allowing our team to prioritise patients who need urgent assessment.
-
Improve response times, helping us maintain and build upon our effective same-day triage system during the week.
Need medical help over the weekend?
If you require advice or treatment while the surgery is closed and eConsult is unavailable, please use the most appropriate NHS service:
-
NHS 111: For urgent medical advice and guidance.
-
Urgent Treatment Centres: For minor illnesses and injuries that cannot wait until Monday.
-
999 or A&E: For serious or life-threatening emergencies.
We remain fully committed to providing timely, safe and effective care, and we believe this change will help us deliver an even better service. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
