Following the COVID-19 booster announcement from the Prime Minister on Sunday 12 December 2021, we  are working to provide vaccinations for all eligible adults aged over 18 in line with national timeframes, so we have to prioritise GP services and pause some routine healthcare appointments.

This year we will continue to factor in social distancing into our flu vaccination schedule in order to keep everyone safe. There will not be any drop-in flu clinics this year but lots of other safe options and all patients MUST pre-book an appointment slot in advance.

On our Saturday clinics we will have a one-way system with one entry point and a different exit point, same as last year. The lift will not be in use and there is no lift via the exit route so please call us to book a separate mid-week appointment if you are not able to walk up and down our set of stairs.

If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, have been in contact with someone that has tested positive or are self-isolating  please  DO NOT COME to the surgery,  call us to re- arrange your appointment

Everyone age 65 or over and everyone under 65 at risk will receive a text message or letter and will need to pre-book one of the following options

  • Main flu clinics- Saturdays 18th and 25th September – We are holding two Saturdays PRE-BOOKED flu clinics at Lincoln House Surgery.
    • Anyone arriving for the clinic should be appropriately dressed to enable an efficient service and easy access to their arm.
    • All patients should bring their own a face covering or mask with them.
    • Slots will be given and we must stress the importance of arriving in time – not before, not after- in order to help us maintain a safe social distanced clinic.
  • Other Mid-week appointments will be available particularly for patients with mobility issues that cannot attend the main Saturday clinics due to the lifts being out of use.

Who should get the flu vaccine?

  • Everyone aged 65 and over
  • Everyone under 65 years of age who has a medical condition that makes them eligible, including children and babies over 6 months of age
  • All pregnant women, at any stage of pregnancy
  • All 2 and 3 year old children (provided they were aged 2 or 3 years old on 31 August of the current flu season)
  • All children in primary school (given at school)
  • All Year 7 to Year 11 secondary school-aged children (given at school)
  • Everyone living in a residential or nursing home
  • Everyone who cares for an older or disabled person
  • All frontline health and social care workers
  • Those aged 50 to 64 years old will also be offered flu vaccination this year but they will be invited at a later stage in October, as we have extra vaccines arriving at the beginning of October.

Children should be booked by calling the surgery to attend a mid week appointment – Online bookings will NOT be available for children.

We shall keep a very limited number of flu appointments at the surgery building which will be reserved for at-risk children.

  • Children must not attend the Saturday clinics as more time is needed.
  • If your child is eligible to have a vaccination at school, but not otherwise in another at risk group, they should have their vaccine at school, not at the Doctors surgery.
  • Children nasal flu clinic will be announced at a later stage, once we have confirmed vaccine delivery dates. Expected from mid/end of September

Home visits are available – for medically housebound patients ONLY.

We shall continue to offer essential home visits for very frail patients to have their flu vaccinations at home and for those living in care homes.

  • Home visit slots are very limited and so are strictly reserved only for those who physically couldn’t get to an appointment with help from a friend, family or a taxi.
  • Home visits will be scheduled by our nursing team but please do call the surgery to let us know if you want to book a home visit
