We have now introduced 5 minute face to face consultations for patients with a single, urgent issue to be seen on the day. These appointments complement 10 minute face to face appointments and 5 minute telephone consultations and are intended to help meet the ever increasing patient demand, especially during the winter months.
To ensure that patients are booked for the right type of consultation for their specific problem, the Partners have trained the reception team to ask all patients who call in for brief details of their problem. From that information, they will be able to book the correct appointment type with the correct clinician. Patient confidentiality will be maintained to the existing high standards and the surgery will be able to operate more efficiently.
Patients are requested to co-operate with this change that has been introduced to offer the best and most appropriate level of clinical care to all patients.
