We have now introduced 5 minute face to face consultations for patients with a single, urgent issue to be seen on the day.  These appointments complement 10 minute face to face appointments and  5 minute telephone consultations and are intended to help meet the ever increasing patient demand, especially during the winter months.

To ensure that patients are booked for the right type of consultation for their specific problem, the Partners have trained the reception team to ask all patients who call in for brief details of their problem.  From that information, they will be able to book the correct appointment type with the correct clinician.  Patient confidentiality will be maintained to the existing high standards and the surgery will be able to operate more efficiently.

Patients are requested to co-operate with this change that has been introduced to offer the best and most appropriate level of clinical care to all patients.

Appointments may be made by:

  1) By registering for our on-line appointment booking service and booking an appointment online (GP appointments only)

  2) Telephoning the surgery between 08.00 and 18.25 (01442 245067)

  3) In person between 08.30 and 18.25

Routine appointments:

appointment_1We have a computerised appointment system.

  • Routine appointments are available up to four weeks in advance and on the day.
  • You will normally be able to see the Doctor of your choice, but should be prepared to give a little more notice.
  • A range of appointments are offered: 5 minute telephone, 5 minute 1 problem only face to face and 10 minute face to face
  • Reception will offer you the appropriate type of appointment, based on your needs.
  • If you have more than 1 problem, you will need to book a separate appointment.  The consultation time only allows for a single problem to be discussed.

In Case of Emergency:

  • If you have a medical emergency, which cannot wait until the next day, you will be able to see a doctor the same day.
  • There may be a wait to be seen.
  • All emergencies are dealt with by the Doctor on duty for emergencies. The Doctor will assess each case individually and recommend the most appropriate action.
  • Please telephone as early as possible.

We aim to see pre-booked patients as close to their allocated appointment time as possible.

Delays may occur from time to time, for example if the Doctor is called out of surgery, and when this occurs, an explanation will be given.

Please use your appointment time appropriately. One problem per consultation and do not come as an emergency for a routine problem.

Please advise us, as soon as possible, if you are unable to keep an appointment.  This allows us to re-allocate the time. We publish our non-notified cancellations on a monthly basis. This is displayed in the reception area at Lincoln House.
